Galerie Stephan Witschi has been around since 2006. Previously we worked under the name of vernisSAGEfinis, a gallery which became an ‘OFF’ space in Zurich. Its name said it all: Exhibitions lasted only over a weekend, but were all the more intense for all that. Success spurred us on to higher standards, and so we decided in 2006 to move to new premises and to professionalize our business. Our gallery is located near Zurich’s main station, somewhat hidden away in a charming interior courtyard.

We currently represent and support mainly eight international artists. The essence of the gallery is its versatility. We focus on photography, but also show paintings, often from young artists. Another field of interest lies in art from the cultural sphere of Asia, and our cooperation with the female Korean photographer, Jungjin Lee, represents a fascinating starting point for this engagement.

Our publishing business is a further mainstay. We publish up to three art books per year, working in cooperation with artists represented in the gallery, but also with contributors from abroad, such as with Roman Signer Roman Signer – Reden und Gespräche.

Apart from that, we have also been managing the Andrea Robbi Museum in Sils Maria for a number of years.

We are proud to have won Professor Jörg Huber as a consultant to our gallery. For many years, Professor Huber was Head of the Institute for Critical Theory at the Zurich University of the Arts, and he provides highly valued contacts with the art scene in China.
